The somewhat different start-ups
There has been a lot of talk about start-ups in recent years. They are regarded as the heroes of the New Economy, knitting a small idea into a billion-dollar business. Investors give themselves the reins to be part of the boom and are happy to be given new lofty promises every quarter. But not every start-up is a brilliant idea and most of them just burn money. What about their hero factor?
This collection is a tribute to all the small shops and stores, the one-wo*man shows and lone fighters who manage without algorithms and retargeting, and who make sure that there is bread every morning without any fuss.
